Expert Care When Your Child Suddenly Gets Sick or Injured
Bee Kind Pediatrics provides prompt evaluation and treatment for acute illnesses and injuries, backed by Dr. Blair Rolnick’s specialized training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at a Level I trauma center and children’s hospital. This additional expertise allows Dr. Rolnick to quickly assess your child, begin appropriate treatment, and determine whether they can be safely cared for at home or in our office — or whether emergency hospital care is necessary.
What Is Pediatric Acute Care?
Acute illnesses and injuries typically appear suddenly and require prompt medical attention.
While some acute conditions require emergency hospital care, many childhood illnesses and injuries can be safely evaluated and treated in an outpatient or home setting.
Our role is to quickly determine:
- What is causing your child’s symptoms
- How serious their condition may be
- What treatment they need
- Whether they can safely recover at home
- Whether emergency or specialty care is necessary
Pediatric Emergency Medicine Expertise
Pediatric Emergency Medicine is specialized training focused specifically on evaluating and treating acutely ill and injured children. Dr. Rolnick’s additional training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine gives her experience managing conditions that go beyond routine pediatric care.
Common Reasons for Acute Care
Children and adolescents may need prompt evaluation for illnesses or injuries such as:
- Difficulty breathing or acute asthma symptoms
- Strains and sprains
- Falls and playground or sports injuries
- Suspected broken bones
- Head injuries
- Fever or flu-like symptoms
- Pneumonia and respiratory infections
- Dehydration
- Persistent vomiting or diarrhea
- Significant abdominal pain
- Allergic reactions
- Burns
- Foreign objects in the ear, nose, or other areas
If you are unsure whether your child’s symptoms require immediate attention, contact Bee Kind Pediatrics so we can help determine the appropriate next step.
When to Seek Immediate Medical Care
Some symptoms may indicate a potentially serious or life-threatening condition.
Seek immediate medical attention if your child experiences symptoms such as:
- Significant difficulty breathing or an obstructed airway
- Blue or gray skin color
- Severe chest pain
- Severe or rapidly worsening allergic reaction
- Uncontrollable bleeding
- Loss of consciousness
- Significant changes in mental status or confusion
- Severe, persistent vomiting or diarrhea

My daughter just had her ears pierced today and I can tell you that both Maria and Dr. Blair couldn’t have been more professional or patient with my daughter. She also engaged very well with my daughter made her feel comfortable and that means a lot to any parent of a child. I would highly recommend Dr. Blair and her office to any parent that’s looking for a pediatrician for their child.Posted on Google

We’ve been going to Beekind for about 6 months now and I have nothing but great things to say about this practice. First, the space itself is absolutely stunning. With the calming colors and whimsical designs, it’s hard to believe you’re in a doctor’s office. The exam room is more like a play space that immediately put my child at ease. But what truly sets this practice apart is the care. Dr. Rolnick and her staff are not only incredibly knowledgeable and up-to-date on the latest in pediatric medicine, but they also take the time to really listen to your concerns and meet you where you’re at. We’ve never felt rushed and everyone is always extremely patient and kind. In fact, every time we’ve visited either Dr. Rolnick or FNP Santucci have sat with us for at least an hour, playing with my child and answering every question I’ve had. The personalized attention we receive here is unmatched. Plus, they have the most up-to-date technology which makes telehealth visits a great option if you can’t make it into the office. It’s a completely different level of care—proactive, thorough, and deeply human. We feel so lucky to have found this place. Highly recommend!Posted on Google

The health, wellbeing, and development of my baby are the most important things for me as a parent, and to be able to invest in good doctors is crucial to ensure we’re providing our baby the best we can. After having an upsetting experience at another pediatrician we were recommended this pediatric practice by our friends and we’ve been so happy with the choice. Not only they’re thorough with their assessments, blood work, eye exams, etc, they truly make you feel cared for. They’re also vaccine friendly and will allow you to space out vaccinations if needed. My husband and I highly recommend this place!Posted on Google

If you’re reading these reviews wondering if you should join Dr. Rolnick’s practice at Bee Kind Pediatrics, this is your sign to go for it. We had our daughters’ first appointments today, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Switching doctors can be a daunting process, but after today, we’re confident we made the right decision for our girls. From the moment we walked in, Kelsey made us feel so welcome. She was warm, friendly, and took the time to explain everything about the practices and appointment in a way that was clear for the entire family. We felt completely comfortable and informed every step of the way. Dr. Rolnick is truly exceptional. To say she is thorough is an understatement. She took the time to make sure both of our daughters felt safe and comfortable in her care, and that sense of security extended to us as parents. She listened attentively to every concern and responded with kindness, understanding, and action. The best part? Our 5-year-old left the office saying she loved her new doctor and asked if Dr. Rolnick could be her doctor “forever.” If that doesn’t speak volumes about the care they provide, I don’t know what does. Thank you Dr. Rolnick and staff!Posted on Google
